HEXHAM
The nearby market town of Hexham situated in the beautiful Tyne Valley, offers great restaurants and shopping as well as many medieval buildings. Chief amongst these is the imposing Abbey dating from 674AD. Three miles further along the valley brings you to the pretty village of Corbridge with its upmarket shops, cafes and restaurants and the old roman town of Corstopitum.

THE NORTHUMBRIAN COAST
Slightly further afield, the county town of Alnwick boasts a truly magnificent castle (featured prominently in the Harry Potter movies) and the Alnwick Garden - a fascinating contemporary garden with spectacular water features and one of the world's largest wooden treehouses.
